First conversation, phone or otherwise with Rabbi. I can just see myself doing:
Me: "Erm... hello, my name is ___ and.... uh.... I heard about your synagogue and... I was wondering... so I was thinking of... I'd like to convert?!" *starts hyperventilating*
Help. ;_; I know why I want to convert, and my personal beliefs and reasons in moving towards converting to Judaism, but how exactly do I approach that in a first conversation with a Rabbi without sounding completely insane and alienating. In reference, I'll be talking to a Reform Rabbi. I keep prolonging that phone call since it seems so daunting, though I know that it's seemingly ridiculous to get so worked up about. This is probably something you hear a lot, but, I'd appreciate the input even if it's "Get more confidence!" xP
