I can't stop smiling. It's perfect! I especially like the little touches, such as the family's prayer (MOLLY!) and how Todd has learned to be comfortable kissing Damon in public.
Alan's guilt over Jennie's death because he could have found comfort had it been Todd's was especially powerful for me. My brother-in-law was schizophrenic and unable to use effective medication. I can completely understand Alan's sentiment and I found his decision to take action in his relationship with Todd being spurred by Jennie's loss very moving!
I also loved the parallel between Damon and Kyle and Alan telling Todd, Damon would be held to the same standards. Alan may be accepting, but he's still demanding. This line - moralistic artifact from prehistory - made me laugh out loud. It fits Alan and how he comes across very, very well. I adored how he arched his eyebrow at the door; he seemed to be enjoying himself there ( ... )
