.....But there is a reason-I have been knocked down by a huge, nasty cold!
Thursday
I started feeling ill in the afternoon-scratchy throat and a congested feeling. By Friday morning it was full blown. I went into work only because we think we are going to be inspected soon and I had a lot of paperwork to get through. But I came in late and went home early.
Between cough drops and tylenol I was able to keep our dinner date with my best friend Lauren and her new guy. We went to Elio's and we actually had a really fun dinner. Her new guy seems really great and I have a feeling he may be the "one!"
Saturday
I slept until about 1pm, and then started getting ready to go to Bumble and Bumble to get my haircut. Honestly I probably would have cancelled-I was feeling better but would have preferred to keep resting, but my hairdresser is only in 3 days a month (she moved to Buffalo, NY, but is so popular they let her come in 3 days a month and she is always booked up completely!
Since I was already in midtown I figured shopping might make me feel a little better. I went over to Burberry to pick up part of Jason's anniversary gift
(our anniversary is less than 2 weeks away). I have already bought him a pair of Burberry cufflinks and to complete the gift I bought him the Burberry signature tie:
From there I went over to the Bobbi Brown counter at Bergdorf's to see my make-up person Babara Stone. Even though I was still ill my eyebrows were in desperate need of a tweezing so she tweezed my eyebrows and did a partial make-over-foundation, blush and lipgloss-no eyes since they are constantly itchy from the cold. I also picked up two goodies:
Love when they have these kits-it has basically everything I need except for mascara-super easy for traveling!
And then what would be a trip to the make-up counter without a pruchase of a new lip gloss:
It's called Sandwash Petal.
So after all that I came home and rested. We then met friends for dinner at Taste. We had a great time with them, but after dinner they invited us to join them and some of their other friends at a cigar and brandy bar. It sounded intriguing, but considering I could barely breathe I didn;t think a cigar bar would be a great place to go.
Today
Taking it easy-hoping to be all better by tomorrow!
