Iron Man
J. & I went to see "Iron Man" tonight. It so totally rocked the shit. demonweasel is spot on the money in his assessment, as usual. Woah. And people. . .stay through the credits. It's not a huge deal, but one last hell yeah with which to leave the theatre.
Am now super-excited for "The Dark Knight," of course. Will want to see "The Mummy" but probably won't go. Have a date with my mom for the SATC movie -- could not believe the last episode of Entertainment Weekly was almost all "Sex and the City." Mind you, I don't think the movie will be fantastic, but I am under some contractual obligation to go, as a childless, unmarried woman. Will be looking for reviews of "Towelhead" (written by Alan Ball, yo!) as it comes on the horizon. Will my brothers kids be interested in the new "Narnia?" Hard to say. The eldest boy is chafing to push those limits, and the girls are, well, cool teenagers.
Other movies on the horizon include the CAPA summer movie series (10 tickets for $21.50!) and our "must sees" according to J. (and none of which I've seen!) include: "Thunderball," "Sabrina," "Once Upon a Time in the West," and "The Third Man." We've already seen "Notorious" and "His Girl Friday" and they are both fab. I apologize for my egregious use of parentheses.
