It seems a common thread, especially amongst gay men, including Crowley, to aspire to "manliness" There are a number of indicators of this manly virtue, but I think two that I need to work on right now are
1.) to be able to gracefully give and receive an honest compliment.
2.) to be able to gracefully give and receive honest criticism.
If I can not only do these two, but do both without implying a one sided nature to anyone, indicating that I am down to partisanship and a complete opposition or a complete acceptance of a party line, then I think I've advanced pretty far from where I've started. I'm working on it.
