Last month saw the following:
10/1-10/4 -trip to Austin which included Austin City Limits music fest, trip to the Texas Wine Country (yes there is one), and visit to my parents
-10/7-10/9- trip to Stillwater for annual Oklahoma Arts Conference- networking w/ ALL kinds of arts professionals from OKC, Tulsa, Norman, and lots of rural areas. very cool.
-10/9-10/10- LIZ AND MATT"S WEDDING! and related festivities.
-10/10- Race for the Cure!
-10/18- U2 concert!!
-10/24- Ghouls Gone Wild parade, I was representing the (newly formed) OK Branch of the Feminist Art Project with some fabulous ladies
-10/25- helped build gallery walls at IAO and then went to pumpkin-palooza! (well, my friend's house where we carved pumpkins and ate various pumpkin snacks)
-10/29- RENT in Guthrie! (love that show)
-10/31- some holiday... hmmm :)
in the gaps, sprinkle in a few art openings (not mine), a few wine nights, some costume-making, some volunteer committee work here and there, and- of course- work! where our afterschool programs started and we are gearing up for Opening Night.
A great, fantastic, FULL month! a month full of friends and family and art and community events. Loved it, truly, even when I felt too boxed in to breathe a couple of times. I am so grateful to be able to do so much. i just love it all. :)
Only thing about a month like that is- i did not get much art-making time in there, unless you count cookies as an art. or costumes- of which I made 3 (2 for Bonnie and I who went Steampunk for a theme party, and 1 more for the parade).
hooray! This coming weekend will be CAMPING- a much needed respite, although I will be hopping back to the city on Friday for First Friday shenanigans on Paseo. A friend has an opening at aka gallery, and I (along w/ 99 other OK artists) have a piece in JRB's small works show. so there's that!
I write these catch-up posts to get myself in the habit of posting over here... but life is really, really good.
