Jeff gets a date!
There's this girl I've had a bit of a crush on for quite a while now. I just haven't found a way to approach her about it. She's cute - got eyes that just melt you when you look at them, a great sense of humor, and brains.
I was walking around in Meijer this afternoon when I saw her and her friends. I waved hello and they giggled. I talked to them a bit and went on my way.
I could hear her friends, off and on, talking to her as I went through the aisles - telling her what a nice guy I was.
A few minutes later, she came up to me and pulled me into the kids clothes department, sitting at the base of one of the racks so her friends wouldn't see her. As I looked at her peeking through some shirts, she was nervously searching for what she wanted to say. It was adorable. Eventually, I stopped her and just flat-out asked, "are you asking me on a date?"
She gave a sort of sheepish grin and nodded her head very slowly; a neon orange sleeve falling across her face.
All I could think of to say was "okay" and we both sat there, staring at each other like jr. hihgh kids for what seemed like an eternity - or maybe I just wanted it to be.
I asked her when a good night and time would be - it didn't seem like anything would be a problem considering our summer classes ended at noon and we had nothing for the weekends. The only time we had to rule out was sunday, since we'd be at different super bowl parties.
We went on talking about stupid things and then she went off to tell her friends.
How could something so wonderful just pop out of the sky like that? Then it hit me.
The super bowl isn't til January.
At that moment, I woke up . . . and realized that not only did it not happen, but she doesn't even exist. Son of a bitch!
