I'm still in India and will be for another month. Been at Amma's ashram, Amritapuri, for the last 5 days and will probably stay through Christmas. I am missing the snow in Seattle, a fact that once would have broken my heart, but now is hardly registering. Again, changes...

Being at Amma's ashram is, like most of my India experience, a study in contrasts. I love it and I hate it.
I've been thinking about a couple of you a lot the last few days.
yiaya, you'll have to jump into Lake Washington without me this year. I found our pix from last year and realized sadly that I wouldn't be there this year.
krasota, I'm editing two papers written by a Russian Advaita Master that have been translated into English by one of his students, who happens to be one of my roommates here at the ashram. For some reason, Russian always makes me think of you. He's a brilliant writer. I'll be posting them online for them soon. I have Cyrillic filenames on my computer! It would be so much easier if my mother had just relented and let me study Russian in high school! His site in Russian is
