Restless Con Goer
Got back home from Expo yesterday and wanted to do 100 different things but ended up sleeping because of the jet lag.
AX was freaking crazy. It had it's minor problems but my biggest issue with the trip was the hotel. They withheld an extra $450 in addition to my already $540 room. So to my surprise I buy one thing and my card is declined for the rest of the trip. I meant to complain about that but I'll do it tomorrow.
I filled up my 4GB memory card and used a bit of my 2GB with pictures and video and we got there a whole day late. Some people said this year was worst, some said it was better. I thought it was ok, but that's only because I can only compare it to such conventions as Detour and Acen where it's completely unorganized. The registration process for +40,000 took less than 5 minutes to get in, get your badge, and leave. And the place they had it in was HUGE! It was like half the size of the MOA so it was nice and spacious.
I also got to meet some new faces along with some old ones, like Dale who is actually living in Japan but was there working in the dealers room. I know he had to be shocked to see me and I know my friends were shocked to see him in a dress and giving me a hug like that. lol But I had to leave though because he was trying to sell me manga that I really didn't want to buy.
Sunday after the convention we walked down to Chinatown and ate a ramen shop. Then we made the mistake of staying too long because we didn't head back until dark and got to see homeless people in the masses. Literally like +50 people on each side of the road laying in sleeping bags and blankets and tents. Then we turn a corner and there's another 30 of them just hanging out on the side walk. It was way worst then what we saw in New York. Longest walk home ever!
So I've cleaned up my room and have been watching all the latest anime that came out. I have to stay late at work to make up the money for this trip. I'm also obsessed with this song that played at the dance while these break dancers went at it. Somebody needs to help me find this song!!!
