So after all of the aimless driving around trying to figure out what's open when, if we have enough money to do this or that, I've decided to compile a list. Help me out!

Aside from bars, movie theatres and bowling...what are some of your favorite (and preferably unique) things to do and places to go - day and/or night - in Houston, TX? Also, what

katz's deli is a good 24hr cheap eatery and i love to go to helios right off of westheimer across from the police building and numbers - on thursday they have open mike nite and its free - other things go on there aswell

Katz doesn't really qualify as cheap anymore. When sandwiches tend towards the $10 mark, I stop eating them. :P

How about reliving your childhood?

You could try going to the Children's Museum. I used to work there, actually, and it's fun to go back because I no longer have to clean up after the kids or deal with the staff and managers. (It used to be a really nice work environment, but it's gone downhill since I left.)

You could also relive your childhood by going to the zoo. I used to love riding the miniature train in Hermann Park.

Finish off the day with a couple of Happy Meals in the McDonald's at the Science Museum (another fun place, but then again, I'm a big nerd), and your day would be complete.

This website has a lot of cool places like that. The Bobbindoctrin Puppet Theatre sounds fun.

I wish I had more time/money to go places. I'm totally entertained just walking or driving around downtown or the museum district.

24 hour restaurants of choice include House of Guys and Spanish Flower. I can't think of much else that's 24 hour... (hanging at Kinko's at 3 AM has lost its cool...)

Mai's (sp?) on Louisiana (I think) is open really late... like 3:00 am - great asian food.

My friend's mom worked there and warned her to never go in because it's so dirty.
