why do people go to tanning salons in the winter? i can understand how you would want some color in your skin, without having to buy a plane ticket to some tropical island, but when you're the only one with orange/copper'd skin at the coffee shop at 7:30am you kinda stick out... and not in a good way... do you look healthy? no... you look fake, and honestly a little pretentious... and don't get me started with the guidette joisey accent... *sigh* love East Hanover

today is cold... real cold... but in 20 days I'll be standing tall in Cancun Mexico basking in some REAL sun, and I'll be getting me a REAL tan which doesn't make me look plastic... My father gave me, my sister, her husband tom, and my cousin Mike an all inclusive trip he earned through selling tires... the resort looks amazing... there's a lazy river that surrounds and sweeps through the entire hotel with little tiki bars right by the water... so basically, you can cruise, stop for a drink, cruise, stop for a drink, and repeat this all afternoon till you can't even remember your first name... February 4th can't come soon enough

the only draw back is i feel guilty going there - i recently watched a Discovery Chanel special about how modern man's presence on the Yucatan Peninsula has been destroying the habitat - we're contaminating the cenotes and underground rivers, killing the coral reef, which in turn is killing off wildlife - not a big fan of that kind of stuff, and i feel when i go i'll be contributing to the problem :-/ why do we have to be such ass holes about things - the Mayan people who inhabited the island before us, treasured it, and then we come in and pee on it... i know i know... i'm going to Cancun (for free) and I'm complaining/thinking of bad things rather than the positive... i just can't help it... my environmentalist attitude haunts me at night... it's going to be a sweet trip though, so i'll stop... i'm lucky to be even going

* A cenote is an opening on the jungle's limestone rocky floor. The opening is generally circular , but it may look like a short river or lagoon. There are six configurations for cenotes, the vase, the cave , the stream, the pond, the submarine and the lagoon. The sections of a cenote are , the edge, the neck , the water mirror, the cave entrance, the submarine chambers the channels and the tunnels. There are various depths in the cenotes configurations. The deepest ones are the vase and the cave types. The ones at ground level are the lagoon type and the stream types *

enjoy your time on earth
