First, and update about that job: It's already closed because UF's HR system sucks. However, I spoke to the woman that currently holds the position, and she told me to go ahead and email her my resume and she'll see that her boss gets it anyway. Yay. It's a very long shot, and the odds and most definitely not in my favor here, but still, it's worth a try. Though, to add a small point to my favor, I spent a few hours on Friday helping my museum boss plan and start a database of articles on artists featured at the Harn. Basically, she wanted to do something to catalog them, but didn't know how to approach it, so I said what if we just do it like this, and she loved the idea. So yes, I have actually contributed something above and beyond a warm body that takes directions well...And I think that sounds wrong. But whatever.
Next, my mom found out yesterday that she got a job that she really wanted. It's a massive raise and she'll be working with someone she really likes and has known for ages, and it's at UF which is so convenient. So that's good news all around.
Finally,The Producers toured in G'ville this weekend, and I went to see it. OMG, wonderful! Seriously, the staging was great, the sets were awesome, the choreography was perfect, the script was hilarious, and the actors were phenomenal. I definitely recommend it to anyone who has a chance to see it.
