Heh...ever consider getting that pen thing that transfers written word to the computer by scanning it?

Sesshoumaru does get easier to write than Inuyasha. At least for me. Inuyasha is a crazy mix of brash, tender, smart alek, and bum. Sesshoumaru is pretty much, well, Sesshoumaru.

Who are you beta'ing for?

Yeah, I'd love to have one of those things. Of course, the ones that actually translate it into typed words would probably choke on my handwriting, and the other ones (the ones that just create an image)...I wouldn't want to foist my notes on the poor author. She's got enough to wade through with all my comments, she doesn't need the eye-strain of reading my messy red scrawl. ^.^

Ah, see, in the past, Sesshoumaru's just glared at me and flounced off when I tried to get him to talk. I guess he finally approves of my plot. ^.^

Sorry, didn't see the last part.

At the moment, Undecidedly Certain. I'm working with her on The Archangel. I read it not too long ago on a whim, thinking I'd hate it, but I actually ended up liking it a lot. It's a great story, but it's a bit rough, so I reviewed it and offered to help out. She took me up on the offer, so I'm going over both the new and old chapters with her. So far, she seems great to work with. Of course, she hasn't gotten back my first round of corrections yet...I tend to be the sort of beta who doesn't just correct things, but actually gives entire grammar lessons. I figure it helps the authors improve and keeps me from turning into a living spell-check program. ^.^ And as soon as I finish with this stuff, I'm supposed to look over some original piece for Ren. *sigh* Sadly, I actually like doing this. I'm odd.

I'm glad you enjoy being a beta. I am relieved with vyncent and wiccan as my betas. I wince with every red mark they send back on my old chapters, but am relieved to note that my new chapter is only slightly red. (I think they do the same thing as you; they don't actually correct it for me. I go through everything, and view the notes to change things) My grammar lessons paid off, I suppose, and with the pressure gone the words flow more naturally.

On another note, how is YOUR story coming along? I'm sitting tight waiting for it.

lol another author I beta for was joking around with me once because I was thrilled when I gave her back a chapter with only 40-something corrections on it. For me, that's barely any red. :P

My story is...coming. I hate writing dialogue, so I went ahead and kind of tried to "script" one of the scenes, and then I'll go back in and write in the narrative (the easy part, for me), and when that's done I'll bust out the Writer's Glue and cram the two together. Then I'll rip it to shreds and send the remains off to the beta crew. I wanted it to be at the beta stage by the end of this week, but that's not happening. So now I'm shooting for next week. Add a week for betaing, and it'll hopefully have the first chapter up by the end of the month.

I used to hate dialogue as well. Normally, it wasn't because I couldn't come up with something to say, but writing it seemed...slow. Now, I see it as an enhancement to the story. I'd rather read good dialogue than an action scene any day. Though, I think a good balance is what makes a great fic.

Are you going to post your chapter when it gets done, or are you going to wait until the whole story is complete?

Oh, it'll be posted one chapter at a time. Knowing me, it'd I'll end up taking eternity to finish it (no, literally).

See, I find the narrative/prose sections to be so much easier. I can tell an entire story without using a single
line of dialogue (I have, too). I always think that my dialogue is too stilted. And action scenes...*shudders* I have a support group planned for those.

*hands Akarii a shiny new Action Scenes Anonymous badge*

Trust me, you'll know when I start working on those...the whining on Z! will be spectacular. >.

Tell me about it. The plunnie that has been eating my brain for the last year requires a plot that is based almost exclusively on action scenes.

I must be mad.

This may be the reason why I keep procrastinating with my current multichapter so much o.O
