Christmas approaching
I love really feeling the holiday. I've had some Christmases where it just really didn't feel like a holiday. But this year, I've really made an effort. I feel like everyone in my house has.
We have a little Christmas tree that we decorated together, with little stockings for the dolls hanging up behind it. The other day we made gingerbread cookies, and actually used cookie cutters to make shaped ones, and then decorated them. Right now I'm sipping peppermint-instant coffee drink while listening to Christmas music on Pandora, and working on Christmas presents. There are 4 holiday cards hanging on the fridge that friends/family have sent me.
And I am so very grateful for everything I have. My friends, my family, my health, and comfort. I wish there was more I could do to share my happiness that I feel this season.
I am going home to California on Tuesday to see my family. My middle sister, Megan, won't be there since she's spending Christmas with her husband's family (they spent Thanksgiving with us), and that will be strange. But my parents and little sister will be there. I love seeing my parents. I really wish they didn't live two states away. If they could live in Blaine or Mount Vernon, it would be perfect.
