Army
So- I haven't updated in nearly a year. I know, shame on me. I suppose I'll start off my re-entry to livejournal (other than the sexual IQ quiz I just posted) with a blurb about college. I'm going to Virginia Tech for engineering. I don't know what kind of engineering I'm going into, but I'm leaning more towards mechanical engineering or electrical electrical engineering at this point in time. I'm going to be in the VTCC (Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets) as an Army ROTC scholarship cadet. Basically, the Army is paying for me to go to college. Tuition is covered, and they're also providing $3000 a year for room and board, which will cover about half. I'm also getting a $1000 one-time scholarship for being a freshman and playing in the Highty-Tighties, which is the Corps Regimental Marching Band. I'm getting $400 from our insurance company, and $200 from my grandpa's ruritan club. In addition to everything else, the Army will give me $900 per year for books and other school supplies, as well as $300 a month stipend. So, college is looking good! Lol. I'm really excited about everything. I'm trying to get an audition for the Southern Colonels, which is the VTCC jazz band. I'm excited to see what the college of engineering will be like. It's going to be tough, but hell- that's what makes it fun. Lol. The only thing that I'm not so psyched about is the 7PM-11PM study period and my 11PM curfew. But hey- it'll be worth it in the end. :-D
