It has been an epic cinema trip with my bestie Cindy at Central Park. We even ran into our HS friend Amanda (whom I haven't seen since I took off for Melbourne in 2006, despite our keeping in touch on Facebook), who was hanging out with her friends from Sydney.
What a fine piece of art Les Misérables is! Most of the cast really delivered (bravo Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway!), and the call for humanity is evident with its universal theme. Special thanks to Victor Hugo for having written the awe-inspiring book in the first place. I'm now tempted to pre-order the DVD, the French concept album that became the basis for the musical and also the original London cast CD that was very well-recorded.
Too bad one of my top favorite songs "A Little Fall of Rain" isn't included in the movie soundtrack, considering Samantha Barks and Eddie Redmayne (now one of my favorite actors - I enjoyed him on My Week with Marilyn as well) did a superior job with it. The CD would've been perfection had it presented itself as more than just a highlights album.
