A Full-On Idol Feast

Jul 17, 2011 02:08

As promised, I'm finally back to share the delightful experiences my friend Erica and I had at the American Idol 2011 live tour. Complete with the videos I have uploaded for you ;) They weren't really the best quality, but I hope you can still enjoy the virtual ride.
Have fun!

HIGHLIGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS FROM THE TOUR

  • I just learned that the LA tickets are sold out. Wow! All the seats were completely filled. This was a massive difference than last year's Idol tour. But I know this season has one of the strongest groups, and with the diversity of genres in the singers, it adds to more fans wanting to come in for the tour. So it was a plus!
  • My Haley-loving friend Francesca finally fulfilled her dreams of meeting Queen Haley when she caught the Idols arriving on their tour bus early in the afternoon. She said she was as sweet as syrup and honey. <3
  • I didn't get to meet the Idols, but I did meet the lovely Nikki Reed (Rosalie on the Twilight movies) and took a picture with her. She was so supportive of fiance Paul McDonald that she handed everyone flyers to promote Paul's music :)
  • The first time Erica and I hit the Merchandise section, we came across MANY teenyboppers who are die-hard Scotty fans. They were like: "OMG Scotty! OMG Mom, I want to get the Scotty T-shirt!" So hilarious! Yes, these girls really do exist :p
  • A lot of James Durbin's fangirls AND fanboys were also around. In fact, 70% of the audiences in my section (Mezzanine) are hardcore Durbin fans. As Erica pointed out, some of them were actually quite rude as to walk away during some of the other Idols' sets while screaming at the top of their lungs in a wild kind of way when it was Durbin's turn. I felt bad for Jacob, 'cause he went right after Durbin, and the Durbinators weren't really appreciating him. Jacob was actually entertaining last night.
  • Truth be told. I wasn't expecting it, but Durbin was VERY out of tune in some parts of his solo numbers. I wasn't the only one who noticed it, but the Durbinators were not only giving him standing ovations. They were standing up the whole time he was singing.
  • The Haley fans were downright amazing! I love the Haley gals and guys. LOL. We're always keeping it cool and classy.
  • The ladies really rocked it. Our favorite baladeer Pia was stunning like she always is, Thia showed a lot of confidence (though she was much better than that Selena Gomez song), Naima brought a lot of energy with her singing-dancing combo, Lauren was a sassy cowgirl, and Haley once again proved why she's a Queen. x
  • Of all the Idols used as back-up vocalists for their fellow Idols, Stefano was the only guy who got that opportunity. It's true though, he does harmonies really well. Well, the Casey-Haley duet was astounding as well with their harmony blends and scat exchanges. LOL.
  • Overall, it was a super-fantastic concert! It went by way too fast, actually, but I'm glad I made it there to witness my favorite new singers working their magic on stage ;)
