oh shit! I didn't know that yesasia is not doing the free VAT shipping to the UK anymore! I can't cancel it now because my orders have already been dispatched! I'll just pray for a miracle that hopefully I won't be paying customs tax but it's very unlikely so the best I can hope for is I'm at home when the notice comes and I won't have to pay so ( Read more... )

I hardly buy with YESASIA anymore, since they stopped that VAT-free shipping. It´s not the taxes I have to pay in the first place, but YESASIA has a gruesome customer service. German customs (knowing that most Asian sellers lie about tha value - and YESASIA never declares correctly!) demands a copy of the invoice outside the package. I have asked Yesasia a thousand times to please attach that - but they simply never do. And that results to German customs always stopping the delivery and either they send it back without me being notified or I have to personally appear at the customs-offices (and I hardly have the chance, since I am always working when they have office-hours). This way the delivery mostly takes 6-8 weeks!

I could suggest two alternatives. The prices at YESASIA are quite high already. You can get a faster and safer delivery - especially if you order two products of the same category (like concert-DVD´s/Blu-ay´s, or movies, or CD´s) at HMV.co.jp. They only ship EMS - and that´s quite expensive - but the rebate if you order two products of their "multibuy-offer" is considerably high - and you don´t end up with more than at Yesasia, but have a really fast and trackable delivery. The customs-declaration is corrct and you have to pay customs-fees - but you will to do that with Yesasia just the same.

Another option for single shipments is CD Japan.co.jp. They don´t have the rebate that HMV offers, but they give reward points you can use on future orders and you can choose between a varitey of shipping methods from EMS (expensive, trackable and fast) to SAL (slow, non-trackable, but cheap).

And with the trackable EMS-option maybe you cann already re-direct the package to a safer, "Sermon-free" address, before it´s delivered ^-^.

Hope this help. And good luck!

oh thanks for the suggestion! I haven't tried buying with HMV yet, I'm going to check their website. I was checking out amazon.jp but the limited english when I search for an item is giving me a headache and I'm kinda getting confused with their international shipping. The only website I really buy my fandom stuff is yesasia and CDJapan since it's kinda straight to the point.... so I think from now on, I just might end up using CDJapan more than yesasia ^_^
