(no subject)
so i had my interview on tuesday at the department of public health in boston....
and they offered me a second interview, an individual one!! since i had 2 people interview me. loveliness. i was soo nervous though, it was my first time actually interviewing for a professional job. long day, had to get up at 7, stuck in traffic, got there exactly 10am after getting lost in the streets, my aunt showed me the way, since she works on the same floor, and then in the interview. they asked me the regular questions, like what motivates you, biggest accomplishment, why do you want to work here, what made you want to go into public health, etc. they were really nice, so hoopefully they think i am too. after i went and met some of the people that work on the floor, my aunt introduced me. then i left, go to the bus station, waited for an hr for it to come, and then it took freakin almost 4 hrs to get to amherst since the bus driver was slow when we stopped in springfield. exhausting.
but i reeeeally hope i get it. i sent in my thank you note yesterday afternoon. i hope i can actually go back to boston without any conflicts for the second interview. ha, me, denae phillips, working at the massachusetts department of public health. and so many teachers and counselors thought i could never make it, never mind anything in health. sometimes, im so proud of myself. i came from learning disabled, always getting put down student, to hopeful mdph student intern, and future public health researcher, nurse, and/or educator. take that evil stoughton public schools.
soo, change of topic. i lost 20 bucks at the bars last night! 20! someone took it out of my pocket when it got really crowded. i shouldve just put it in my bra. live and learn. i didnt even want to go in the first place, but my friends kept begging so i gave in. i had a good time, besides losing twenty dollars. there was this hawt guy dancing with me, and he kept on trying to kiss me, but i had to keep turning around when he did. it was quite funny, in fact. i love the randomness that happens in clubs.
ok, i gotta get busy on homework and such. i have an epidemiology exam tuesday, an HIV/AIDS presentation/speech also on tuesday, a chemistry exam on thursday, and chem lab on friday. howeverrrr, my man is coming up next weekend!! :D finally. im trying to see what we can do in town or on campus. ill plan it out soon.
