Reconnecting
Last night I got an email from a friend I've known since first grade with whom I had drifted out of contact with for the past 3-4 years. It was great to hear from him again, and of course I wrote back. We've sort of drifted in and out of contact several times over the course of our lives.
Within the past couple weeks I've also reestablished contact with three other friends from past stages of my life.
Just coincidence, or no?
In any case, it's nice. Since I'm separated by a great distance from three of these guys (one now lives near Boston, the other two in Northern Virginia), it's not like we'll be actively involved in each others' lives, but I realize that I have really slacked off with keeping in touch with people over the past several years - even some local ones.
I hereby resolve to do better. People are important.
Of course, they could just read my LiveJournal, and maintain one of their own. :-)
