Ok, so I'm obsessively thinking about possibly buying a new sewing machine.
When I got in to work today, the lovely ladies at the sewing machine department tells me (and a few others) about this really great, super-secret, un-advertized sale. Basically a lists price at $2,399.00 is on sale for $750.00. Here's the link:
http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us/6616_475.htm The website has some cool interactive features for checking it out. The things that make is so damn tempting are (in order of importance to me):
1. life time warranty (life of machine, not me!)
2. it has an optional walking foot, and I can't find one for a machine I already own.
3. in it's decorative stich options it can do lettering, both block and script fonts.
4. it comes with and electronic button hole foot that does all the work... you just hit the start button.
5. did I mention the start and stop buttons?! you don't need to use the presser foot if you don't wanna (or if you hips, knees, and ankles happen to be sore).
6. you don't have to unthread the damn thing just to wind a bobbin.
7. it's got optional "eyelet" plate!!!! That means if I bought that attachment I could make perfectly round stiched eyelets instead of using grommets for everything that laces up!!!! And it's more "period correct" looking.
http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us/accessories_search_accessories_search_details.asp?ItemNumber=412394045 I can't tell if I should talk myself into or out of this. I can buy it, but it would hurt for a few weeks. I mean, it does have some truly spiffy features... but I've gotten along so far with out it. I don't know... opinions wanted, please!
Oh, and a PS to this weekend for Ed and Shai... on monday I had a very loud and opinionated customer who absolutely LOVED me and on her own went up to Sal and told him what a wonderful employee I was and that he should give me a raise and take me out to lunch!!!! Finally, a good comment about me! ;-)
