At this time I more definitely feel a special time of Lent. Words about Lent I have heard before were just psychological instructions resembling to the wonderful but dry herbarium.
What is supposed? Limitation in the eating, reading of the spiritual literature, limitation of entertainments, state of peace with everyone, trying not to be angry, help to the poor people… all of these serve to the preparation to Easter.
But whether is it all what God wants from us? What is Lent is for?
Or another question: should we limit our appetite, read good literature, be in peace, don’t be angry and help people in our another time of life, not only in Lent? Probably yes. But what is special it in Lent? Now I feel that I should do something I don’t do at another time. It’s believed that Lent is time of special repentance. And it’s true, should be true. It’s as if you seek Truth, Love, God not in yourself but in other people, things, happenings. Looking into yourself you see only not completed proceedings, fussy concerns, not courage and several shameful thoughts… Now at time of peace and quiet as if an invisible power softly directs your mind to the thought about work (spiritual or/and obvious)
And again and again you invoke “…O Lord and King, grant me to see mine own faults…” what means not only vision of faults but the way of correction
lent,
