Danny Phantom Wiki Character Personality:
At first glance, Jazz comes across as over-bearing, bossy and a know-it-all. An over-protective sister who thinks her parents are loons, and that the general atmosphere of ghost hunting in her house is a hindrance and annoyance. This is just how she comes across; really Jazz is a smart, caring and intelligent young woman. Her interests fall more towards the analytical then the typical teenager; such as reading books on psychology, analyzing those around her and constantly working towards achieving her dream of being a Professor at Yale University. She tries to act as though she is a responsible adult, which is why most people see her as a little bossy. Though she does try to act the adult, she has a small temper that flares up and makes her act her age (or even a little younger.). She’s learned to balance this out and while she knows that it’s okay to over-achieve and worry over things; it’s okay to let the mask of ‘adulthood’ slip every so often and just enjoy life.
Her interest in psychology has also shaped how she views things; more often then not observing and analyzing something before making her decision on the subject. Usually she will chose the more positive side of things, Jazz is a rather optimistic person, but sometimes her need to be right clouds any other sides to an issue. One thing that does manage to set off her temper is being wrong and having others point it out. On the idea of her being over-bearing, this is just her natural personality showing through. Despite the fact that she is a bit pushy and even a little arrogant, there’s no way she can (or actively wants to) hide how much she cares for her family. Her worry over Danny is the most obvious one (only because he is the main character) but there are several instances where she shows concern over her parents. With Danny, her worry is shown through trying to get him to be more out going, and protecting him from her parents weird inventions. When dealing with her parents its mostly through being somewhat accepting of their jobs (which is shown much later into the series) and trying to actively gain respect for the Fenton name. She is a caring person, but because she sometimes tries to hard or refuses to acknowledge the fact that others don’t need her help/advice. Her helpful worry seems a little bossy and superior.
The last thing to know about Jazz, and quite possibly the most important, is that she has ‘ghost envy’. Everything that she aspires for can be almost directly linked to the fact that her parents pay more attention to ghosts then to her. No matter what she does or how supportive her parents are of her endeavors, if a ghost comes around Jazz is fully aware that her parents will drop whatever they are doing to go after it. She isn’t self-absorbed though, so she knows that if there is actual open risk to her or Danny, that her parents will put them before whatever is attacking them. This though, is the only instance where family wins over ghosts.
Character Abilities: Martial arts, above average intelligence, strategy, organization, psychology
Jazz is purely human, but because she’s the daughter of Jack and Maddie Fenton, she has a very natural affinity to fighting usually with the help of a weapon. This also proves that she is very adept with using any sort of weapon; ranging from simple melee weapons to advanced ecto-suits and blaster guns. Her know-it-all nature is also not just a cover up or show of over confidence. It’s rightly earned. Jazz is a very intelligent young woman, and does very well in a strategic sense, especially when she starts helping out with Team Phantom. While she isn’t an active fighter, she uses her wits to protect Danny’s identity and give him excuses when ever he winds up fighting ghosts at odd hours of the day. Her greatest strength though is her ability to take apart a situation and find the simplest course of action. She has proven herself to be a very good strategist, even if physically fighting isn’t her strong suit. She knows how to read people, and can discern their talents to whatever would fit them best.
Character Weaknesses: Most of Jazz’s weakness comes from the fact that she has no super powers in canon. While the majority of the villains and heroes have either ghost powers or technology to fight them, Jazz has considerably less. Yes she can use her parents weapons, but doesn’t carry them around 24/7 like the others. She is also very susceptible to underestimating others; not just the good guys. She relies on analytical logic at times when instinct or trust in others would work a lot better.
[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]
What are the abilities that your character will retain in Soul Campaign?
Jazz will be able to retain all of her abilities. Since none of her talents are mystical or super powered in nature. All of them come from genetics and personal training. She will retain her intelligence, which is above average for a student her age. Comparable to a se The only thing she will lose is the availability of weapons, since those aren’t allowed in the game. So she’ll have to make do with only her hand-to-hand knowledge and the usual strategically calculations.
What are the weaknesses that your character will lose or gain in Soul Campaign?
Just like her strengths, Jazz will be keeping her weaknesses and also gaining one. Without the normal protections against ‘nether worldly’ powers that her parents inventions provide. She will be a bit more susceptible to being harmed. Also her tendency to underestimate her teammates will also remain since that is part of her personality.
Keeping the game’s premise in mind, please give us a brief explanation of your plans for your character in Soul Campaign.
Jazz is a very, very smart girl. She is also fairly talented in fighting; what she can provide to the city is not only another able-bodied and willing fighter. Jazz is also a good strategist and organizer and can help out with any of the more messy paperwork that The Watch or S.E.E.S may need figured out.
She is also very observant; noticing and pointing out things that most other people will miss. This really does help out in her planning out strategies.
[ MEISTER ONLY SECTION ]
Why your character should be a Meister: Jasmin is the perfect role for a meister. She is strong, quick and has been trained (accidentally at times) to wield a variety of weapons. Not just normal ones like swords, staffs and guns, but strange one’s such as blaster gauntlets and robotic armor.
And mops.
Meister Ability:
1) Soul Seal - The meister is able to surround a target ally with the shape of their soul. The shell hardens and becomes impenetrable, disallowing attacks from without and within for as long as the casting meister remains conscious, thus forcing the enemy to deal with the casting meister first.
Reason: Jazz is very protective of people she cares about, especially her younger brother and his friends, but she does tend to go overboard. Not taking into account that the people she is protecting, might be able to protect themselves. On the other side though, she does save their bacons a few times thanks to her being able to distract Maddy and Jack.
2.) Soul Tracking - Meister uses Soul Energy to get a basic feeling of where an individual is located by feeling out their soul. Effectiveness depends on how well she knows the individual.
Reason: Jazz likes keeping tabs on people she cares about; knowing where they are during a battle or even just after school.
3.) Soul Protect - While it does not hide them physically, this skill will temporarily shield the presence of their soul wavelength.
Reason: Same as number one except this would be keeping herself and her weapon safe.
**IN CASE WE CAN MAKE OUR OWN**
4.) Ecto Soul- When they're wielding a Weapon and they achieve resonance, that Weapon is able to inflict spirit based damage.
This fits in with the theme of the show; ghost have a special sort of energy (usually light blue in color or green.)
[ SOUL INFORMATION ]
Soul Description: caring, inquisitive, intelligent, pragmatic, chipper, bossy
Soul Appearance: Her soul is a bright robin’s egg blue in color. It has her little head band and the tail is shaped like that of a ghosts tail. Also she is smiling and the ‘eyes’ have little eyelashes. The soul is round except for a point at the top which mimics Jazz’s hair style.
[ SAMPLES ]
First Person:
I’m not really one to just jump into something head first without figuring things out. This little gizmo that Shibusen gave me seems to be pretty sturdy and at least it’ll let me talk to someone possibly normal. Or at least less…energetic then Mr. Albarn.
Well, let’s try this.
[A nice view of a pretty red-haired girl clicks on. Even though she obviously new, she doesn’t seem phased or confused by the network and the odd situation. At least…not outwardly. She smiles and waves.]
Hi, I’m Jazz Fenton. I guess…whoever else is on this network, that you’ve also had to go through BREW. I can accept the whole other world idea, and the witches. Sort of.
But turning into a weapon? That’s got to be one of the weirdest things I’ve ever heard. It’s physically impossible, it shouldn’t be able to happen to normal people.
[She sighs through her nose before giving a slightly less cheery smile. It’s almost resigned.]
I guess things really aren’t the status quo around here. At least not what I’m used to.
Third Person:
It was nice to get back into a somewhat normal routine after suddenly living in a city populated solely by women. Jazz would be the first one to admit that getting a normal anything in her life was a cause for celebration. Which she was content to take part in at the moment.
“Okay…I know I left that book on my desk. Unless something moved it.” She blinked and looked around her room carefully; ghosts used to be something to laugh at. To question and logic away as superstition. Not anymore; now a ghost was a threat. Open, dangerous and very, very real.
“No, Jazz, you’re starting to act like them. A ghost did not steal you’re copy of ‘Surviving Adolescence through Therapy”. That’s just silly.” So that just left having to find it.
In the dark?
She gave a small groan and sat up, instincts winning over senses and a small thrill of panic winding it’s way down her spine. Quickly she glances around before shielding her eyes at the sudden glare of a…television?
“Okay. This is new. And weird.” When the red-haired man begins to speak she feels that panic start to worm its way towards worry. Only a few months ago she would have scoffed at the idea of witches, other dimensions and anything else that that man, no…that Spirit had just mentioned. However she no longer had that luxury, now she had accept it. Accept the fact that she was possibly several dimensions away from home and caught up in a war.
“Great. Like things back home weren’t bad enough! Now this?” She sighed, “Well. At least Danny isn’t here.”
Hopefully.
[ NOTES ]
None that I can think of...She's cute!
