Two lovely months, as of today!
I had an adventure in the kitchen this afternoon: black beans and Spam. I used a little too much Canola oil, apparently, and the pan and Spam kept spitting at me. It was actually quite good. My cooking prowess now also encompasses luncheon meat.
I'm wearing a sexy mask! You can't see me!
It's bright and shiny out and I just heard thunder. This weather is confusing my plans to finish painting my British neighbor's fence by the end of the week. He's a cool, cool guy, and he's building a deck on the side of his house, just for something to do. He ends every phone conversation with a very fast "Cheers mate bye". Hearing that is like the feeling fictional preteens get when the cool older kids call them "dude" or otherwise reify them, except less pitiful.
I was half-watching the NBA Finals last night (read: it was on and I was flipping channels) when I found Telemundo's coverage of the cosmologically inconsequential Guatemala-Trinidad and Tobago soccer game. Nothing, but nothing, is more entertaining than Spanish-language fútbol broadcasts. The announcers should consider moonlighting in opera.
Like Alina, I have book reading suggestions, by which I mean I'm going to name some of the books in my immediate vicinity: Dangerous Drug Interactions by Joe and Teresa Graedon; Prairy Erth by William Least Heat-Moon; Rand McNally's Road Atlas 2003; Drawing Wildlife by someone Amberlyn; and The Art of Robert Bateman. It has a fox painting on the front.
I'm foxy!
