It's been a World of Warcraft Weekend, and as predicted I'm fairly addicted to it already. What can I say, except that my "indie-rock" veneer (roomie's words, not mine) is like a thin, chocolatey coating over my cherry cordial of a game geek's heart. Mmm... cherry cordials.
Hey, if I was a *true* geek, I'd start a livejournal for my character. (Which, now that I thought of it, I probably will. But I won't tell anyone about it. Nanashimala is very secretive about her emotional turmoil and personality quiz results.)
Yesterday, as I was lovingly trying to remain engaged in conversation with my parents, I heard the strains of soulful music echoing from the New Seasons parking lot. At first I thought it was just someone's car stereo blasting, but when I returned down the other side of the street, I saw that it was a 10-piece band playing under the outdoor tent that the rib shack there uses for customer seating. So I ordered a chopped pork barbecue sandwich with red beans and rice, and sat down to enjoy the show for about 45 minutes. I tried calling solar_p to have him join in on the fun vicariously, but he didn't answer. It's too bad, because right then they went into Earth, Wind & Fire mode, before heading into their James Brown impression, and then returning to the gospel soul. They were a tight group, and I'm sure they've played many a Sunday morning and afternoon at church. If you've been saved, lemme here ya say "yayaah!" Yayaah.
