I work at a print shop, and this is by far the best unintentionally-funny line I've read in an email yet:

"This wasn't cropped correctly. The person's head was supposed to bleed at the bottom."

Today, I packaged up and sent out a copy of

Camera Ready: How to Shoot Your Kids. by Arthur Elgort.

And I laughed, just a little.

There seems to be a subtext of violence in everyone's world today. At least we can laugh at ours.

That's what's nice about spending all your time surrounded by fiction. You only have to look at the newspaper on breaks.

I'm always torn between engaging the world and trying to have a positive impact on people, or retreating to the metaphorical ivory tower and leaving them all to hang. The misanthropic philanthropist. There's a book title for you.

A book title? Or a rap song....hmmm....

To be honest, I love the feeling I get of being this cog in the machine of everything that books feed. Today, I sent college books to kids, art books to the Spider-man 3 art department, gifts to children, and horribly dry sounding engineering things to no-doubt equally dry people in different states, who will hopefully use them for edification of both a physical and emotional sort.
