My Hubris Towards Mother Nature Has Been Chastised

Yesterday, I crowed at my command of fire. Like Prometheus, the gods demanded punishment for my hubris.

So I was racking some servers today and...

...I open a box containing a Sun Fire v210 server. I lift the cardboard divider which separates the accessories and the server itself, when what do I see staring me in the face? The biggest damn cockroach I've ever seen. Keep in mind that I've lived both in New York City and Florida, two giant cockroach havens.

Upon seeing it, I realized that, due to its size (and an insect's relative strength to weight ratio) it could kick my ass. My fight or flight reflex kicked in, and I ran as fast as I could.

I got my boss. He's quite a bit less squeamish than I am. He grew up in China, which means that China must have more bad-ass bugs that New York or Florida. I'm now not so sure that I ever want to go there.

Bravely he returned to the server and vanquished the bug. He was even so kind as to clean off the server and check inside to make sure there was nothing... well let's just say to make sure that there was nothing in there.

That's why he's the boss.
