Got new issue of Marie Claire (free gift was a choice of Balance Me face balm or face cream - next month they’re doing a free handbag-size Ghost fragrance). They had a little interview with Tuppence Middleton (and yes, Tuppence is her real name!) + Caitlin Moran doing My Life in Books plus Katy Perry’s beauty icons included Daphne Guinness and Elizabeth Taylor. They also had a feature on Kate Bush.
Also got Vintage Life which included articles on lidos and beach huts and vintage swimsuits. Plus a vintage guide to Sheffield and an article on the Tweed Run (which is a retro themed bike ride in London) and a piece on Vivien Leigh. They also had an interview with Barbara Hulanicki discussing Biba plus lots of retro hair/makeup guides + recipes including doughnuts.
Last week’s Times had an interview with Daisy Lowe (to promote her new cookbook) and Caitlin Moran (tho’ when she was discussing her inspirations I thought Slash’s real name was Saul not Paul + as much as I love Courtney Love I do not think she was at the forefront of riot grrrl - she’s always tended to disassociate herself from it). And they also mentioned the Benedict Cumberbatch colouring book.
