Got new issue of SFX which had reviews of Only Lovers Left Alive + City of Bones plus a big feature on upcoming TV that mentioned the return of Orphan Black and In the Flesh.
Also got new issue of Vintage Life which had an interesting feature on the influence of ancient Egypt on 1920s fashion plus a guide to vintage Bristol and a 1960s makeup/hair tutorial. They also had an article on modern day corset wearing (I really miss wearing corsets - I do love a nice corset). They also had interviews with the author of Burlesque Baking and Angel Adoree (who's done a book on vintage sweets).
There was definite slashbait on Inspector George Gently last night - I am so sad that there is hardly any fanfic for this show, it has so much potential.
Also finished reading Cyndi Lauper's memoirs. They were OK + I enjoyed them tho' I wouldn't say it was one of my favourites - it was entertaining + it did cover a fair bit. I think a problem with a lot of these books is they do just read like someone basically sat down + just talked for hours into a tape recorder - they don't read like they were actually written down, if that makes sense. But I do love Cyndi - I think her determination, honesty and kind-heartedness shine through in the book.
