Back from a fabulous trip to London.

Got new issue of Uncut magazine - they had a big feature on Morrissey + a tribute to Lou Reed plus a guide to John Grant's albums. Also reviews of Veterans of Disorder by Royal Trux and some Coum Transmissions (Genesis p.Orridge's 1st band) stuff. Also in their best of 2013 they mentioned Hit So Hard (the documentary on Patty Schemel the drummer from Hole) and I Dreamed I was a Very Clean Tramp by Richard Hell and Morrissey's autobiography. I was a bit disappointed Queens of Noise (the book about The Runaways) didn't get a mention but then I don't think it's had a proper UK release yet.

Times at the weekend had reviews of The Charioteer by Mary Renault and a new biography of Gore Vidal (both of which I'm tempted to check out). Also had reviews of Dr Who + Legacy and a short piece on Best Movies You'll Never See which mentioned Nick Cave's script for Gladiator II where Russell Crowe's Gladiator character ends up travelling through time as some sort of immortal super warrior.

Also had an interview w/Matt Smith - I must admit I am curious to see how this musical of American Psycho is going to turn out. They also had a review of the Lizzie Siddal play which I wish I could have seen. They mentioned Maggie + Me as their memoir of the year (which I still need to read) and had a bit by Pearl Lowe on her family Christmas. They also had a photo of Edie Sedgwick as makeup inspiration. There was also a pic of Benedict Cumberbatch and Zawe Ashton as the Cinecity Festival.
