I got the new issue of Nylon today which made me happy. They had a little piece on the Blythe doll and the customising competition they run every year plus they mentioned the new bitch anthology book that I have on order from Amazon and can't wait to read. And Betsey Johnson has a perfume out, I love Betsey Johnson, she used to be married to John Cale from Velvet Underground back when he was still young and moody as opposed to just old and grumpy. And for their fashion icons this issue they had Bettie Page, Josephine Baker and Marilyn Chambers. (I can't believe they haven't just gone with it and done one on porn stars yet, could have had Traci Lords, Ginger Lynn, Linda Lovelace, the woman out of Emmanuelle, Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick and more). I never did get to see the Bettie Page movie but I'm definitely going to try and see The Black Dahlia movie, it's supposed to be one at the Tyneside soon.
Also got the new issue of Devolution which had a bit of a punk theme. Loved the cover and the free CD (although I still haven't got round to listening to it yet). Once again, a great issue --- lots of reviews (including one of PussyRock 2) and interviews with the likes of Betty Curse and Devilish Presley plus some non music ones. I loved the artwork by David Stoupakis and I thought the interview with the woman who ran the Blue Blood website/magazine was interesting (I'd love to know what's happened with Propaganda cos that was an amazing Goth/fetish type magazine but they haven't done a new issue in ages) plus they had an expanded version of the Punk Rock Domestics interview that was in Bubblegum Slut. I still think they need to bring out a Punk Rock Domestics book.
Oh and that free Jimi Hendrix CD from The Times is absolutely awesome. 10 tracks from a live concert he did at the Royal Albert Hall including someone accompanying him on the flute and a great cover version of Cream's Sunshine of Your love. If I'd been smarter I'd have bought extra copies and flogged them on Ebay.
