Recently I rewatched Series 1 + 2 of Misfits (including the Christmas special) - I'd forgotten just how much I loved it. Those 1st two series were brilliant + it was one of my favourite TV shows. Series 3 had its moments but I really didn't like Series 4. I liked all the original cast. yes, my favourite is/was/probably will always be Robert Sheehan as Nathan but I also loved Iwan Rheon as Simon. I'd forgotten Zawe Ashton was in an episode as well tho' my favourite secondary characters were Nathan's dad (played by Dexter Fletcher) and Shaun the social worker. Personally I think RS was right to leave after 2 series - I think even by the end of Series 2 I felt like they were using Nathan too much for comedy value/shock value rather than doing the little moments of vulnerable angst (like when his mother slaps him or his brother dies) that I thought really made the character. Plus his character was sort of dominating the show (a bit like Mitchell in Being Human) altho in Being Human's case I thought they survived the cast change a lot better but for me, Misfits didn't really pull it off and especially not the complete change that Series 4 saw. I'll be interested to see what they do for the fifth and final series.

I must be one of the few people who never thought Kelly and Nathan should end up together, I thought her + Seth were much better suited and I really wanted Nathan to end up with Simon (and I'm not just saying that as a die-hard slash fan, I just thought there was something really interesting about their relationship + I think it would have been an interesting development if Nathan realised he did have genuine feelings for Simon after the whole 'the tattoo made me gay for you' storyline.). I do think it's a crying shame there isn't more Nathan/Simon slashfic out there esp as Misfits was such a popular show.
