Forgot to mention I got new issue of Vintage Life. They had a bit on 20s fashion + a history of perfume in the 20th century and some hair tutorials plus a guide to vintage shopping in Los Angeles. They also had a little bit on Dita Von Teese as she is releasing a new perfume called Fleur Teese (I must try it - I had her other perfume + I ended up really liking it). They also had a bit on the Hotel Pelirocco in Brighton (which is actually on my list of places I have to see before I die - they have themed rooms including one for Leigh Bowery and one for Bettie Page and one for Diana Dors). They also had a profile of Cary Grant - Cary Grant was a self created fiction - we always talk about the female stars who remade themselves/were remodelled such as Marilyn Monroe or Rita Hayworth but there were quite a few male stars who did it too. And often for the same reasons to play down ethnicity and/or play up heterosexuality as the object of fans fantasies or to whitewash out a troublesome background (when Marilyn 1st got started she claimed she was an orphan in fact her mother was still alive and actually outlived her). I still think Cary Grant was bi.
