Times at weekend had a couple of interesting articles on the pornification of society and a debate over 'angry' 70s feminism vs. modern feminism. They also had reviews of Ruby Wax's new book on mental health (using a lot of CBT/mindfulness techniques) and a new biography of Oliver Reed that was authorised by his family. They also had an article on Oliver Reed - I still maintain he was a very good actor, much better than people give him credit for. When I read stories about his hellraising yes, on one level it is entertaining and interesting but on another I just find it really sad - not only for what he put his friends and family through but also what he did to himself. I guess it was his choice to live his life that way but I hate the way 90s lad culture just reduced him to a funny drunk almost like a sideshow when he was actually a really smart and talented man who could actually be quite sensitive when he wanted to be. He was one of the 1st actors I was a fan of - even in crap movies he still has an incredible presence.
They also had interviews with Jessica Alba (discussing her new book on chemical free living) and Katie Grand (top stylist) plus David Icke.
