So Being Human has officially ended ...

I liked the ending - a hint of ambivalence and I like the fact Toby Whithouse said in an interview that he was now handing the show back to the fans and they could carry on creating more stories/theories. I'd like to think they did become human after all - I think the origami wolf could be a red herring as one of the online extra scenes showed Hal discussing his rota with Annie and he mentioned doing origami.
I came to love Hal/Tom/Alex as much as the original trio of Mitchell/George/Annie. I think there were some issues with the show (such as keeping their canon straight - I still think the werewolf blood being toxic to vampires is contradicted by earlier series and they also contradicted themselves on how Mitchell met Josie - and I feel like too often the female characters were only seen in relation to the male characters so Nina never really got much of a storyline of her own, she was just George's girlfriend/Eve's mother/Mitchell's nemesis - and all too often they introduced amazing secondary characters only to kill them off/write them out). In some ways the new trio could be seen as a rehashing of many of the issues of the original trio but I thought the scripting/characters helped to keep it fresh.
I was always a bit disappointed with what they did with Annie - she ended Series 1 being all BAMF-y but then after that they seemed to fall into a trap of using her for comedy segments which I thought just didn't come off. I know a lot of fans wanted Annie and Mitchell to get together but I was never really a fan of that pairing. I actually prefer Hal/Alex as a pairing, for some reason, I found that a lot more believable. I also have a soft spot for Lady Mary and slash-wise I actually prefer Hal/Cutler to Hal/Tom tho' obviously any slash involving Hal is a good thing! They've had some great characters over the 5 series apart from the trios - Gilbert, Ivan, Herrick, Mr Snow, Cutler, Rook etc. - and I love the writing - the way they can mix humour and drama.
It is absolutely one of my all time favourite TV shows. So it's sad that it's ending but we've still had 5 series (plus the spinoff books & online stuff) and that's better than nothing and I would rather it ended now than end up being crap (*cough Misfits*) Altho I am hopeful that they might consider doing some spinoff books based on the S4/5 characters. But even if they don't there's still fanfic.
Tho' I'm surprised in a way that the fandom isn't bigger (esp given 5 series worth of canon).

I really hope we get to see more of the cast on TV/film. And rewatching some old clips I'd almost forgotten how incredibly gorgeous Aidan Turner is & I definitely approve of these murmurs that Damien Molony would make a good Dr Who.
