Got new issue of Gay Times - it had interviews with Immodesty Blaize (famous burlesque performer) and Sharon Needles (winner of RuPaul's Drag Race - I only ever saw one series but I loved it, I really wish they would show it over here) and The Blonds (they're a design duo who now have a Barbie inspired by their designs). There was also a review of the new Stooshe album and a review of the new book on the New Romantic scene, We Can Be Heroes (which I am definitely getting when it comes out).

Just finished reading The Devil in Amber (2nd in the trilogy of Lucifer Box novels by Mark Gatiss) - I do love the way he writes & I hope he writes more novels in the future.

Also read Sherlock Casebook which is based on the 1st two series and designed as if it were John Watson's scrapbook (complete with post-it notes from John and Sherlock) with various short essays included as well. I think that's the difference between Sherlock and Elementary, Sherlock very cleverly weaves lots of little bits of canon into the modern stories but you don't need to have read all the books to appreciate it, but Elementary just seems to use the names/basic concept.
I thought S3 of Downton Abbey was slightly better than S2 but not as much seemed to happen in it (tho' maybe that was just me) and I'm still not that keen on the way Branson is written (I thought they could have done a much better job with him). I wonder what will happen if they do a fourth series, I'm imagining some of the cast will be leaving so they really need to find a way to bring new characters in.
My dream is to have a character based on Tallulah Bankhead (famous actress) who comes to visit along with someone based on Paul Robeson (who talks politics with Branson) and she ends up persuading the gay valet to come back to Hollywood with her where she makes him a big star.
