Got new issue of Instyle (free gift was choice of nail varnishes, next month it's Body Shop eyeliner or mascara). They had a feature on Beth Ditto's new makeup range for MAC & Daphne Guinness on glamour. Plus they had a feature on 30 Future Hits for 2012 which mentioned Benedict Cumberbatch in Parade's End, Tom Stoppard's adaptation of Ford Madox Ford's novels. I am already excited about this esp after reading a summary of the plot so I hope it lives up to expectations (tho' I don't like the way they keep constantly comparing it to Downton Abbey). There's a little bit about it in today's Mail
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2140211/Sherlocks-love-mystery-First-sight-Cumberbatch-new-BBC-drama-aiming-Downtons-TV-crown.html Vanity Fair also had a big feature on Marilyn Monroe by Lawrence Schiller who has a book due out soon.
Also read Tango by Justin Vivian Bond (JB now performs solo but was one half of Kiki & Herb, the cabaret duo). Altho' it's billed as a memoir about growing up trans/queer a lot of it is taken up with discussing a particular relationship JB had from the age of about 12 with a neighbourhood boy. It's an interesting book but all too brief, I would have loved to have read more.
