Got the Times last week and it had the most fabulous interview with Donald Sutherland (who I still have a bit of a crush on after all these years) plus a bit on Paul Kaye's 5 most Disturbing influences (and yes, I've had a crush on him for years as well - shame we didn't get to see more of him in Being Human). And they had a review of the Emma Forrest book and a big article on the upcoming Anna Nicole Smith opera - I hope they show it on TV at some point as I'd love to see it. I really liked ANS, I've still got an old ANS calendar somewhere.
Also got Mojo (which had a pretty cool free CD this month, loads of grunge/alternative stuff on it as they were doing a big tribute to Nirvana to mark the anniversary of the release of Nevermind in '91 altho they also had big features on Captain Beefheart and Scritti Politti).
Also loved the article on The Swans (hope they cover more stuff like that even tho I don't really like their music, I find them really interesting) and they had a short feature on bands that broke thro in 1991 incl Hole, L7 and Babes in Toyland (to be honest I would have loved to have read a longer feature on all the female bands of the time and the kinderwhore/riot grrl stuff but Mojo never seem to do stuff like that). They also reviewed The Runaways DVD which is finally getting a UK release so hopefully more people will get to see it.
