189: Talk about a conversation when what you said was not what you were thinking.

Jul 27, 2007 20:11

I ain't much good with words. Action's more my style. Always has been. I usually say what I'm thinkin', or what I mean. Most of the time. Been few times I ain;t.

There was the time when I was just a youngun and these gorram kids, bigger'n me, were tryin' make me say 'uncle.' Damn right I was thinkin' uncle, but all I said was '跟猴子比丢屎' over'n'over, til they left me alone. Damn bastards. 'Nother time, more recent...Simon, Moonbrain an' me were in a gorram Alliance hospital on Ariel. I...I screwed up the job. I got stupid. The money they was payin' was too good and I sold 'em out to the Feds, okay? I said it, now, dong ma? I sold 'em out and when I was tellin' Simon the job had been changed and we had to get movin' I was really thinking...I was just thinkin' 'bout the money, the whole gorram time. River wakes up and says 'copper for a kiss' and I don't even think 'what the gorram hell is she on about now?' I'm just concentratin' on that money the Alliance promised me. 'Course, they lied. Always lie. Grabbed all three of us and we only just got away, thanks to Mal and the others. And when Simon was all thankin' me and I was sayin' 'you're welcome', I was really thinkin' 'I can't believe he doesn't realise, the dumbass.'

Mal realised, 'course. Hit me straight in the face. Nearly threw me off the gorram ship, literally.

'Spose I deserved it.
