Organs of Coordination
I took today off to rest and recharge. I'm down in my basement, copying our music CDs to our media library, straining out the best video game music on You Tube, putting the finishing touches on cataloging the latest anime we've polished off, while considering how to document loan for the roof replacement we're about to order. And I feel completely at peace.
At my heart, I am an organizer. A coordinator. A documentor. A collector. Even my journal is about collating my own thoughts and feelings. Boxing things is my center. In another life, if I weren't cut out for programming, I would have ended up as a librarian.
...I spent a lot of time in libraries as a child, which is something I cherished. I've grown to prefer my personal libraries, and the infinite libraries of the internet, but the concept of a physical, public library has always appealed to me. One day, I hope, other people will use the collections I have curated.
