It was a great weekend!
Saturday, Stephanie and I went over to Keith's and played some games--and then, he helped Stephie create a Dungeons and Dragons character! After that, we went and hung out with Stephie's friend Jenny.
Sunday, we went to Harrahs. Stephanie and Jenny go occasionally, but it was my first experience with a casino. Between the two of us, we spent $7 on the penny slots and got $7.50 back. Even better, we won two free 2-liter bottles of Pepsi in a promotion.
While we were in St. Louis, we also bought the D&D 3.5 core books, the expansion to Starfarers of Catan, and a vacuum cleaner. We also spent a little bit of time with each of Stephie's parents.
Stephie looked so much brighter getting out of Columbia for the weekend. She really needed the change in surroundings, I think--and the time to spend with familiar, friendly people.
Tuesday, we got a lot accomplished in the evening; watching a movie we needed to take back to Blockbuster (Running with Scissors) and doing laundry. But I also led Stephie in her first D&D session! She's using a Halfling Ranger (archer-type) named Leera. I'm totally out of the groove of being a DM, but it does help me remember how much fun it is. I got so excited, Stephanie probably thinks I'm crazy. The trouble is, now I have to keep being creative and come up with more stuff. This is why people buy dungeon supplements.
Oh, and Happy Birthday to
Ravir.
