This was a long post complaining about my life. I'm not feeling that because all the work I'm doing and all the tiredness I feel is productive and life affirming, and I'm not going to complain about it.
So, here's my accountability stuff:
- drop 15% of my body weight (I'm down 9.5% right now): Dropped a few pounds, but a wedding followed by my college 5 year kind of destroyed that. I'm back on track.
- apply to four PhD programs: I've picked the programs: Johns Hopkins, GW, UMD, and ODU.
- get accepted to an academic conference for the spring: Complete! I was accepted to NeMLA with a paper on Waltz with Bashir. Conference is in April
- get below 30% debt: Epic fail. Gavin got a job in Reston and we had to buy a second car. It's gonna take a while to get closer to the 20% debt I'd like. We have paid off a lot of hidden debt this fall (outstanding medical bills)
Dorian started daycare this week. Eeep! It's so crazy. After I leave work today I have to pick him up after he's spent the afternoon with other kids. He will have experiences Gavin and I won't be there to share. I know I have to let him go and I have; it's just crazy that this will be a regular thing. He'll be one on the 18th. Expect a long sappy entry that day :)
I'm thinking of doing Nanowrimo this year again. I did 25000 words last year, not bad considering I had a two week old the day it started. I want to be a third time winner!
