So this has been a light movie-going year for me, but there is some serious action coming out over the next few months. I was listing this out, and figured I'd share.

Oct. 24 (Limited): Synecdoche, New York - Written and Directed by Charlie Kaufman.

Oct. 31: Zack and Miri Make a Porno - The panel at Comic Con was funny enough and I like Kevin Smith plenty. Seth Rogan too.

Nov 7th: Repo! the Genetic Opera - A horror rock opera about organ harvesting with Giles by the director of my favorite and least favorite Saw movies? Are you kidding? The premise is awesome enough, and the trailer is great. Too bad it's only going limited in 4 cities before moving to DVD in January. I'm hoping for huge sales so they go wide. This might be the most exciting movie for me this winter.

Nov 14: Quantum Solace - I probably wouldn't see this on my own, just because I don't tend to try to see this sort of flick, but I'm sure I'll see it with a group, and I liked the last Bond flick plenty.

Nov 26: The Road - Loved the book, Hugh Jackman. I'll be there. Seriously go read this if you haven't. It won the Pulitzer and everything. (Not sure a trailer exists yet.)
Dec 19: The Wrestler - Darren Aronofky blew me away with The Fountain, and hit with Requiem for a Dream and Pi before that. I'm excited to see what this is all about, the hype from Venice is huge.

Dec 5: Milk - Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch, Josh Brolin, Diego Luna, James Franco. Good story. Obv big Oscars pick if it's any good. Gus Van Sant directing (Good Will Hunting). Maybe this is a "Will see". But since i just typed "maybe" I'll leave it in "Might".

Dec 25: The Spirit - I know it's Frank Miller...but it looks like instead of flexing his own directorial muscles he's making a Sin City look alike. If, in the interim, I finally read some of The Spirit, I could be much more interested. The trailers don't not blow me away, but then again I don't know anything about the property.
