and I am an idiot. (WARNING: WORLD OF WARCRAFT JIBBER-JABBER AHEAD!!!)
Last night I started my Horde-side Death Knight, Heurnn (a Tauren...let me tell you, those are some impressive pauldrons...). I raced through the DK starter quests and decided that, rather than going straight to level advancement, I was going to work on (old-world) starter quests to a) level tradeskills up to par, b) acquire rep, and c) work on exploration and questing achievements.
So I make my way to Bloodhoof Village and pick up Fishing from the trainer there. I switch out my awesome 2H sword from the Light's Hope Chapel event for the fishing pole, start to fish and decide that I should buy some lures. Apparently, while I was buying my baubles, I sold the sword! I must have thought it was the old 2H I had during the DK starter quests. And then, to top it off, I logged out to pick up supervenusfreak from work before I realized what I'd done!
When I logged back in a little later, I wondered why the heck Fishing Buddy was still up. I went into FB and tried to turn it off, and that's when I realized I still had my fishing pole equipped. I go into my backpack to trade out for the sword and...my stomach dropped. It wasn't there!
I swallowed my inner greedhound and dropped 25 gold on a Doomsword, just to have something to actually use. Left me with 12 silver to my name.
I was resigned to this course of events until someone reminded me that I could open a ticket to get it restored. Which I plan on doing tonight. Stupid me.
