Things are looking up.

Woke up this morning feelin' pretty alright. No bad dreams. I felt well-rested for the first time in a good while. The hangnail on my left pinky finger has stopped hurting, and the athlete's foot on my left foot has thankfully subsided. I can walk comfortably and with confidence. What a time to be alive!

Last Sunday the band played a dull show out in Banff, which meant I didn't get home until 1 am or so, which meant going to work on Monday all tired and weary like. This fatigue seemed to perpetuate itself throughout the week. This week is gonna be better. I can feel it.

The band played Saturday night for Junofest. We were last on the bill for some odd reason, after a juno-nominated hiphop guy from Toronto. It was a hard act to follow, and most of the people left before our set, as I predicted. I think certain members of the band were disappointed. I on the other hand know better than to have any sort of expectations for Urban Divide shows. It works well this way. On the plus side, I saw a good show downtown for free yesterday (the "songwriter's circle" as it were) and last night, in a moment of boredom, I turned on the television and saw the last five minutes of the juno awards show. Vincent was playing trumpet in Jully Black's band. What a thing, to be sitting at home and seeing and old bandmate/friend playing trumpet on TV.

Yesterday I played "The Rain Song" for about 3 hours or so in total. Spread out here and there between other activities. A friend showed me how to play it. It's wonderful. The tips of my fingers throb when placed in hot water. It's a pleasant feeling.

Went on three dates with three different gals last week. Fun times (except Thursday, which was not so good). This brings to mind the age-old debate about what is appropriate dating behaviour. Is it okay to date more than one person at a time? If so, at what point does it become unacceptable? Is there a "number of dates" threshold, or a "physical intimacy" threshold? It's a tricky business. A mixed business. I'm mixing business with leather.
