Venice is beautiful. Our hotel (not hostel, hotel) is swanky and still not that much more expensive than other places we've stayed. Don't worry Denise, I have taken pictures. We keep talking to old people. On the train today we talked for two hours with this couple from California, and as we were leaving a restaurant today we were stopped by another couple who recognised us by our voices as CANADIAN, not American, and turned out to be from Ottawa. Cool. Got kinda lost. All the old streets and buildings are kinda creepy when it's dark but it's a cool kinda creepy. Found our way back. Talked to some people from Israel on the bus. Got freaked out by some dogs on the walk back to the hotel from the bus stop. It is still really nice here. The walls are gushy! Not padded-wall gushy, just fabric-covered gushy, though there's probably batting underneath. Soooo cool. My credit card was maxed out when I tried to pay for the hotel, because the stupid payments take a few days to go through so I have to wait until this one goes and then I can pay back Thea. Anyway. Venice = love.
