Today is the first big snow in Ithaca. Or at least it is starting to look like a big snow. I had been doing some cleaning in the garage and could not park the car in the garage the past few days. On driving home today from work, I knew that I better move stuff around to get the car in the garage tonight, because who knows when this snow will stop. So I did. Moved stuff around the garage enough for me to "squeeze" the car into the garage.
Checked on the pond, the circulation pump was still going strong and had actually kept a big hole in the ice. That is good. The pond heater is working as well.
I need to keep my promise to myself that if we ever leave Ithaca, that it HAS to be some climate that stays warm or warmish year round. The only thing keeping us here is that we do like the community of Ithaca. It really is a great place to live.
I would pack us up immediately and move somewhere else if we could. But there are few problems with this spontaneous plan... 1. My better half would need serious convincing to move. 2. The community is awesome here and we like it. 3. We own a very nice house on a nice chunk of land. So a move would mean giving up these things. Seems to complicated and unlikely right now, so I need to just hate the snow and cold until its gone.
