I'm laying on the floor of Tony's old room. The air conditioning unit on the roof above is having a seizure of the nastiest sort and making quite a vibrating ruckus. Hopefully my woefully massive monthly rent can help alleviate this issue.
I only lived in 90210 for a 2.5 months but a lot has happened in that period of time. No doubt I will remember my stay at the Villa Incanto nostalgically and think of the hot dates I went on, the music labels I launched, and the what it felt like to live alone.
After the fact, I can't tell you if I liked or disliked living alone-- my answer would depend on my mood.
When I was in a good mood, living alone was great: the solitude and quiet was great for work and my peace of mind. But in a bad mood, the solitude and quiet made me lonely, depressed, but ultimately more social. But I also loved living with Zach, and hopefully I'll love living with Arad and Will!
In the big picture, while I lived at 90210, two things happened. My sister dropped out of college and moved back to Los Angeles and some changes were set in motion in how Proton will be run in the future. Both occurred last week, and both I'm not quite sure have seen their repercussions play out. I tread cautiously on new ground, nostalgic for the past but naively and optimistically looking to the future.
Things to look forward to...
Trips to Mammoth and Hawaii-- I feel a vacation is finally due 2 years after my trip to Japan & China.
Living closer to Chloe and Josh, seeing more of them both.
The return of my favorite TV shows, including Avatar.
Beating BioShock, playing Halo 3, Mass Effect, and all the great games coming.
Good movies coming out (Juno!).
Exciting new projects and opportunities to pursue at Proton.
In the long term... I need to travel. I need to expand my social group. I need to make an effort to relax more often. I need to remember that I need to make lists of things to look forward to.
Well, here we go again. A new chapter!
