My Fellow Americans....oh, dear God....
So, the family and I decided to watch the fireworks display from in town. The mall puts on a pretty good show and we have front row viewing from our local Eagles Lodge. All in all, an impressive show for a small city, lots of fun with good friends. But it's only as we're heading home that we see the real display. Rounding the bend in the old highway and coming out from the underpass, we see that the freaking hill a block and a half from our home is on FIRE!
Don't worry, it's not a raging wildfire, more like a long strip of brush fire, contained to the gulleys. But still - FIRE! Near my house! And maybe there's no real danger to me and mine, but the best part? Idiots are still setting off fireworks! You can see the hill from all over our little 'sub-urban' area. WTF?!
I did take some pictures from our porch and a few from the diner across the street. Hopefully they'll come out alright when I get them developed and I'll post them here.
