I feel dirty...

I just created a fanfiction.net account for the sole purpose of informing an author that no, Issac Asimov did not write 2001: A Space Odyssey - that would be Arthur C. Clarke ( Read more... )

Oy. Reminds of the idiot who recently stated that their favorite book was To Kill A Mockingbird...by Edgar Allan Poe.

Does this post in fact hint that there is 2001 fanfiction?

NO!

That's like saying that JM Barrie wrote "Trainspotting".

LOL. That...would be an interesting read. Kinda like Call of the Wild by H.P. Lovecraft, right?

I wouldn't be surprised if there were. Certainly wouldn't be the strangest fandom I've seen, but no, this was SGA.

Since last night, my comment has been removed by the author and the story edited. 2001 has been changed to I, Robot, the person about to be assaulted switched from female to male, but the OOC-ness still remains. Oh, well, can't have everything, I guess.

I...wow. I am sort of intrigued as to what might be the link between all of those changes.

You can find the story on ff.net pretty easily. It's the one with 'Asimov' in the title, but the basic plot is that two people, Colonel Sheppard and a scientist, are arguing who is smarter, Isaac Asimov or Rodney McKay, while McKay eavesdrops just out of sight. Sheppard is nearly driven to physical violence in his defense of McKay's brilliance, the implication being that he is only stopped by Rodney's entrance onto the scene. Random scientist exits stage right after being verbally threatened by McKay.

McKay and Sheppard make a feeble attempt at banter, with McKay denigrating Asmiov, and the curtain falls on that bright and shiny note.

The End.
Thank God!
